How we write the appra journal
The appra journal turns learning ideas into practical starting points for families and educators.
Authorship and purpose
Articles are published under appra editorial, the website’s editorial byline, rather than a named researcher or clinician. They are general educational reading and original activity suggestions. They are not individual learning assessments.
Research and interpretation
When an article describes research, it links to the source. We distinguish study findings from suggested adaptations for children and families. Research on a learning principle is not proof that appra itself has been independently evaluated.
Updates and corrections
Each article displays its original publication date. A meaningful revision receives an updated date. We keep article URLs stable where possible and use permanent redirects if a page must move. Translations are maintained as separate, linked editions.
Our editorial priorities
Clear language, useful examples, accurate attribution, and no invented qualifications, testimonials, or promised outcomes. We aim to improve substance when updating an article, rather than changing its date to make it look new.
